Certification under the SeedGuard scheme is voluntary and primarily serves to ensure the greatest possible protection of the environment and health in the seed treatment process and the resulting product, the treated seed. In the short and medium term, it makes an important contribution to the proper and professional use of seed treatment products and thus to the acceptance of seed treatment. At the same time, SeedGuard offers an extension of certification to include aspects of seed quality in the area of “seed grain.” The criteria for seed quality have been developed and agreed upon with the relevant organizations (associations, breeders, companies) and are fully recognized by them. SeedGuard certification thus meets all requirements for professional seed treatment and seed quality assurance.
